The Oleo P 40 N in Detail – Industrial Cold Pressing at the Highest Level

The Oleo P 40 N oil press is the most powerful machine in the OleoPress series and was specifically designed for professional continuous use. With a seed throughput of up to 40 kg/h, it processes twice as much seed as the P 20 series – with the same 3 kW motor power, thanks to an optimized, larger screw geometry and press cylinder design engineered for maximum throughput with minimum energy consumption.

The net weight of 220 kg is not a disadvantage – it is a hallmark of quality. The massive construction ensures absolute vibration-free and smooth operation, even in 24/7 shift work. While lighter machines might begin to “walk” or generate vibrations at high throughput rates, the P 40 N remains steadfast. This is crucial for consistent yield and oil quality during continuous operation.

The integrated heating sleeve – of which two are included in the scope of delivery for the P 40 N – ensures fast and uniform heating to operating temperature. This is particularly important for temperature-sensitive seeds such as walnuts, hemp, or milk thistle, where the correct pressing temperature is decisive for yield and quality. Furthermore, two sets of press nozzles (Ø 5–16 mm) are included – making the machine ready for immediate use with all common seeds.

The frequency inverter allows for infinitely variable speed control from 15 to 70 rpm – for maximum throughput with industrial seeds or gentle low-temperature pressing for sensitive premium seeds. The P 40 N is available in all three voltage variants: 230V 1-ph, 400V 3-ph, and 230V 3-ph.

Like the entire P 40 series, the P 40 N is 100% compatible with original spare parts from the former IBG Monforts Oekotec oil presses – specifically the DD85-G series. All wear parts are permanently available from stock at Kambas OleoPress.

Successor to the IBG Monforts DD85-G – 100% Compatible

The IBG Monforts DD85-G (20–50 kg/h) was the workhorse of professional oil mills in Europe for decades. With the insolvency of IBG Monforts Oekotec GmbH & Co. KG in 2023, the supply of original spare parts ended – a serious problem for all operations wishing to continue running their DD85-G or switch to an equivalent successor machine.

The Oleo P 40 N is the direct successor to the DD85-G – dimensionally compatible and fully interchangeable for all common wear parts:

All parts are manufactured in Germany according to the original design drawings and are permanently available from stock – minimal downtime, no imports.

Why choose the Oleo P 40 N? Key Advantages

Up to 40 kg/h – Double Throughput

With a seed throughput of up to 40 kg/h, the P 40 N processes twice as much as the P 20 series. For operations with weekly pressing volumes of 300 kg or more, it is the most economical solution in the OleoPress portfolio.

220 kg – Absolute Stability

The net weight of 220 kg completely eliminates vibrations and machine “walking,” even during shift work. No need for re-centering, no quality fluctuations due to vibrations – just constant yield hour after hour.

2× Heating Sleeve

Two heating sleeves instead of one ensure faster and more uniform heating to operating temperature – crucial for constant oil quality when pressing temperature-sensitive seeds and during winter cold starts.

DD85-G Successor

Direct successor to the IBG Monforts DD85-G. All existing Monforts wear parts can still be used – a seamless transition.

All Voltage Variants

230V 1-ph, 400V 3-ph, or 230V 3-ph – the P 40 N adapts to your power infrastructure. No location is too challenging for this machine.

Made in Germany

The machine and all spare parts are manufactured in Germany. Long-term spare parts supply – also available from stock for existing Monforts machines.

Suitable Oilseeds for the Oleo P 40 N

With its variable speed control and optimized large press geometry, the Oleo P 40 N processes the entire spectrum of industrially relevant oilseeds:

Classic Oilseeds

  • Rapeseed – high oil content, maximum throughput at high speed
  • Sunflower seeds – hulled or unhulled, high yield
  • Flaxseed – rich in Omega-3, low speed recommended
  • Pumpkin seeds – Styrian pumpkin seed oil in large quantities
  • Mustard seeds – edible and industrial oil

Specialty & Premium Oils

  • Walnuts – fine aroma, low speed, 2× heating sleeve essential
  • Hemp seeds – valuable fatty acid profile, temperature sensitive
  • Milk thistle – medical and cosmetic applications
  • Poppy seeds – delicate gourmet oil
  • Grape seeds – high-quality cosmetic oil

Press Screw Recommendation

The P 40 N is delivered with press screw R8 or R11:

  • R8 – for hard pressing stock (rapeseed, sunflower, pumpkin, mustard)
  • R11 – for soft pressing stock (walnuts, hemp, flaxseed, poppy)

Oleo P 40 N, P 40 U, or P 40 S – Which Variant fits?

Frequently Asked Questions about the Oleo P 40 N

Why does the P 40 N have the same 3 kW motor as the P 20 N but double the throughput?

The higher throughput of the P 40 N is achieved not through a more powerful motor, but through an optimized, larger screw and press cylinder geometry. The P 40 has a larger pressing surface and optimized conveying geometry that processes more seed per unit of time at the same energy input. The frequency inverter also ensures the motor always operates at its optimal point.

What is the difference between P 40 N and P 40 U?

Both variants feature the same 3 kW motor and seed throughput. The main difference is weight: The P 40 N weighs 220 kg, while the P 40 U weighs 200 kg – the N variant has a more robust build. Both are available in all three voltage variants and are IBG Monforts compatible. For the heaviest continuous use, we recommend the P 40 N; for those needing more flexibility in positioning, choose the P 40 U.

Why are 2 heating sleeves delivered?

Due to its larger design, the P 40 N has a larger press cylinder that requires two heating sleeves for uniform heating. Two sleeves ensure faster warm-up times and more even temperature distribution within the press cylinder – especially important for temperature-sensitive seeds like walnuts or hemp and during cold starts.

How much seed can I process per week?

With a maximum seed throughput of up to 40 kg/h and typical operating times of 8 hours per day, weekly pressing volumes of 1,000 kg and more are achievable. The P 40 N is the most economical solution in the OleoPress portfolio for all operations with regular pressing volumes starting from approx. 300 kg per week.

Is the P 40 N suitable for 24/7 continuous operation?

Yes. The P 40 N is designed for intensive commercial continuous operation. The net weight of 220 kg, the robust 3 kW motor, and the massive construction ensure absolute stability and reliability in shift work. Regular maintenance and timely replacement of wear parts (press screw, press cylinder) are recommended.

Are spare parts available long-term?

Yes. Kambas OleoPress guarantees the long-term availability of all wear parts – R8 and R11 press screws, Type E and R press cylinders, nozzles, press head, connection nut, and hopper – even years after purchase. All parts are manufactured in Germany, available from stock, and fully compatible with old IBG Monforts DD85-G machines.

Do you also offer filter presses and bottling systems?

Yes. For the P 40 N, we recommend the F 350 or F 470 filter press for matching filter volumes, as well as our AF3 and AF4 bottling systems for the complete production chain.
