Spare Parts for Large Oil Presses

The following overview shows a selection of available spare parts for screw oil presses. For a complete overview of which parts are compatible with which machine models, please visit our compatibility page.

Press Spindle R8

High-precision R8 press spindle for oil presses. Guarantees maximum power transmission and wear resistance during cold pressing of seeds – for the highest oil quality and optimal yield. Suitable for hard seeds such as rapeseed and sunflower.

Press Spindle R11

High-precision R11 press spindle for oil presses. Designed for use with soft seeds such as linseed, walnuts or pumpkin seeds. Offers the same wear resistance as the R8, with an adapted worm geometry for lower resistance.

Press Cylinder

Robust press cylinder (strainer basket) with precise slot dimensions. Filters the oil from the press cake while withstanding extreme internal pressure. Available in versions Type E and Type R – depending on the machine model and application.

Connecting Nut

Heavy-duty connecting coupling for secure locking of the press cylinder and press head. Ensures absolute tightness and axial stability under extremely high operating pressures during oil extraction.

Press Head

Solid press head for precise pressure regulation. Optimises the flow resistance of the press cake for maximum oil extraction and uniform cake formation – compatible with various seed types.

Nozzle for Oil Press

Precision-machined nozzle for shaping the press cake. Regulates the back pressure in the cylinder for optimal oil yield and produces firm, uniform press cake pellets. The central adjustment element for temperature and residual oil content.

Spare Parts for Small Oil Presses

For compact screw oil presses we offer a separate range of wear parts. The smaller sizes have specific geometries that are not compatible with parts for large machines.

Press Spindle R6

The R6 press spindle is manufactured specifically for small oil press models. Precision machining for smooth operation and long service life – even with regular use.

Press Cylinder (Small)

The press cylinder for small oil presses delivers the same precision slot dimensions as its larger counterpart – in a compact design for small machines with lower throughput.

Feed Hopper

The feed hopper ensures even and safe loading of the press worm. Robust construction, easy to clean and quickly replaceable when needed.

Not sure which part fits?

Our compatibility page shows at a glance which spare parts are compatible with which oil press models – including OleoPress machines and many other manufacturers such as IBG Monforts Oekotec, Oeltech and others.

Why Original Spare Parts Are Critical for Your Oil Press

A screw oil press is a machine that operates under considerable mechanical stress. The press worm (spindle) rotates continuously against the pressing material, transferring forces that generate several tonnes of surface pressure. The press cylinder withstands this pressure continuously – shift after shift, tonne after tonne of pressed seed.

Over time, these components wear down. This is not a defect but an inherent design feature: wear parts are deliberately designed to be consumed and replaceable – to protect more expensive machine components such as the gearbox and motor. However, using low-quality spare parts risks more than just poor pressing results: in the worst case, incorrectly toleranced parts can damage the press cylinder, overload the gearbox, or compromise oil quality through metal abrasion.

Kambas OleoPress manufactures its spare parts to precise original specifications – using the same materials and tolerances as those installed in our own machines. This guarantees a precise fit, smooth operation and maximum service life.

When Do Spare Parts Need to Be Replaced?

Many operators wait too long before replacing parts – often until a clearly noticeable loss of performance occurs. However, there are early warning signs that indicate worn components:

Signs of a Worn Press Spindle

  • Oil yield drops measurably, even though the same seed and the same settings are being used.
  • The press cake contains significantly more residual oil than usual – visible as a greasier, darker appearance.
  • The machine runs less smoothly or vibrates more than when new.
  • Elevated motor temperature or more frequent triggering of the thermal protection.

Signs of a Worn Press Cylinder

  • The pressed oil is cloudier than usual – a sign that the slot dimensions of the strainer basket have become too wide and press cake particles are entering the oil.
  • Uneven oil flow from the strainer slots.
  • Visible grooves or deformation on the inner wall of the cylinder.

Signs of an Incorrectly Set or Worn Nozzle

  • The press cake is too soft or does not break cleanly – indicates insufficient back pressure.
  • Press temperature rises too high – the nozzle opening may be too small or blocked.
  • Irregular pellet shape or crumbling cake after the nozzle.

Rule of thumb for service life: With regular operation (several hours daily), the press spindle should be inspected every 500–1,000 operating hours. The press cylinder generally lasts longer, but should be checked for wear at least once per season. Exact intervals depend on the seed type, grain size and operating temperature.

Which Spare Part for Which Seed?

Not every oil press and not every seed places the same demands on wear parts. A key factor is the hardness and moisture content of the pressing material: hard, dry seeds such as rapeseed or sunflower seeds stress the worm more than soft, moist seeds such as linseed or walnuts.

SeedRecommended SpindleNotes
RapeseedR8High oil content, hard grain – high wear pressure
SunflowerR8Husks increase abrasion – inspect spindle regularly
LinseedR11Soft, mucilaginous pressing material – R11 prevents blockages
Pumpkin seedsR11High oil volume, soft structure – lower pressure required
WalnutsR11Moist kernels – low temperature is important
Mustard seedR8Small grain, hard pressing material – good sealing required
Hemp seedR11Soft seed, heat-sensitive active compounds

Compatibility: Which Machines Are Supported?

Our spare parts have been developed primarily for the OleoPress machine series (Oleo P 8, P 20, P 40). In addition, many parts are compatible with oil presses from other manufacturers whose geometries are similar or identical in design.

Known compatible models include machines from Oeltech (e.g. FX20 – for which there is also a dedicated extension set) as well as selected models from IBG Monforts Oekotec. The exact compatibilities are listed in our compatibility table.

If you own a machine that is not listed in the table, please send us the model designation and the dimensions of the part to be replaced. We will then check whether one of our spare parts fits or whether we can offer a custom production.

Extension Set for Oeltech FX20

For operators of the Oeltech FX20 we offer a specially developed extension set that enables the use of OleoPress spare parts in this machine. The set contains all necessary adapters and parts for a simple changeover without complex modifications – ideal for anyone who wants to benefit from competitively priced original parts and fast availability.

Frequently Asked Questions about Oil Press Spare Parts

How do I find out which spare part I need?

The easiest way is through our compatibility table: all machine models and their corresponding parts are listed there. Alternatively, you can send us your machine’s model designation and – if possible – the dimensions of the part to be replaced. We will then help you directly.

What is the difference between press spindle R8 and R11?

Both spindles have the same outer geometry and can be used in the same machines. The difference lies in the worm pitch and geometry: the R8 is designed for hard seeds (rapeseed, sunflower, mustard) and generates higher pressing pressure. The R11 is optimised for soft seeds (linseed, pumpkin, walnut) and operates with lower resistance, which prevents blockages and keeps oil temperature low.

How often should the press spindle and press cylinder be replaced?

This depends heavily on the pressing volume, the seed type and the operating temperature. As a guideline: with regular operation (several hours daily), the press spindle should be inspected every 500–1,000 operating hours and replaced if necessary. Check the press cylinder for wear, grooves or changed slot dimensions at least once per season.

Are the parts also suitable for older IBG Monforts oil presses?

Our parts are compatible with selected models of the former IBG Monforts Oekotec GmbH & Co. KG. Which models are supported can be seen in the compatibility table. More information about the old IBG Monforts oil press can also be found on our overview page.
